Collected
Nothing. HatmTab has no accounts, no sign-in and no server.
Transmitted
Nothing. The extension makes zero network requests — the Quran text, the fonts and the prayer-time tables are all bundled in the package and everything is computed on your device.
Shared
Nothing. There is nothing to sell, transfer or hand to a third party.

The short version

HatmTab replaces your new tab with a page of the Quran. Everything it remembers — where you stopped reading, how far along your khatma is, which days you read, your settings — is written to your browser's own storage on this device and read back from it. It never leaves.

There is no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting, no advertising and no third-party code of any kind.

What HatmTab stores on your device

Reading position
The mushaf page you are on and how far you have scrolled into it.
So a new tab opens exactly where you left off.
Khatma progress
Pages read, the goal you chose, your bookmark, and finished khatmas.
So the progress card, the bar and the history are yours over time.
Daily page counts
A number of pages per calendar day.
Powers the 13-week heatmap, today's count and your streak.
Settings
Theme, 12/24-hour clock, hijri date, prayer calculation method.
So the page looks and behaves the way you set it.
Location — only if you allow it
Approximate coordinates from your browser, plus a city label.
Used on-device to compute prayer times. Never sent anywhere. Decline it and the rest of HatmTab works unchanged.

This data lives in chrome.storage.local (mirrored to localStorage so the first paint is instant). Both are local to this device and this browser profile.

Permissions, and why each one is asked for

HatmTab requests no host permissions, no tabs permission and no access to your browsing history or the content of any website.

Network activity

In normal use HatmTab makes no network requests at all. The Quran text and the King Fahd Complex page fonts, the prayer-time tables and the UI fonts are all shipped inside the extension package and loaded from it. The extension works fully offline.

The one exception is entirely up to you: double-clicking an ayah opens that verse on quran.com in a new tab so you can read a translation. That is an ordinary link you chose to follow — from there, quran.com's own privacy policy applies. HatmTab sends nothing along with it beyond the verse you clicked.

What HatmTab never does

No accountsThere is nothing to sign up for and nothing to log into.
No trackingNo analytics, no telemetry, no fingerprinting, no cookies.
No adsNothing is monetised, on-page or off.
No remote codeAll JavaScript and WebAssembly ships inside the package.
No selling dataYour data is never sold or transferred to anyone.
No credit decisionsNothing is used for creditworthiness or lending.

Your control over your data

Children

HatmTab is suitable for all ages. Because it collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children either.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of HatmTab ever changes what it stores or starts making network requests, this page will be updated before that version is published, and the date at the top will change with it.
